The Regulations for the 2006 "New Talent" competition, also sent by mail, are available via the new EBU "Competition" Web site:

The "New Talent" competition aims to encourage and promote young musicians through radio. Candidacies from young musicians (age limits on 31 December 2005):
Instrumentalists: 18 to 28 years old
Singers: 20 to 30 years old
are submitted by EBU Member organizations as a recording not exceeding 20 minutes of music made after 1 January 2004.
Radios presenting soloists will only cover the following costs:
- contracts for unlimited radio and television broadcast rights
and, if the candidate is amongst the 8 semi-finalists:
- travel costs to Bratislava
Please allow me to remind you of some key deadlines:
31 January 2006
Deadline for submitting registration forms
28 February 2006
Deadline for receiving recordings and documentation on the candidates by Slovak Radio in Bratislava (SKSR)
21 April 2006
Results of the first round
29 September 2006
Semi-finals: two public concerts in Bratislava (chamber music)(15.00 and 18.05 GMT)
2 October 2006
Finals: public concert in Bratislava (concert with orchestra)
The jury for the 2006 New Talent Competition will be appointed by the Music Group at its meeting in Luxembourg on 19-20 January 2006 (proposals for jury members to be sent to tribolet@ebu.ch by 31 December 2005).
