Canadian Company to be Involved in Completion of the EMO Power Plant

A Canadian company will be involved in the completion of the third and fourth units of the Mochovce nuclear power plant (EMO). The power utility company Slovenske Elektrarne (SE) signed a contract with the company Velan Inc. from Montreal, Canada, in September of this year. The Official Journal of the EU informs that the Canadian company will secure delivery and assembly of the shut-off valves of the main steam piping and feed water. The companies did not disclose the value of the contract. The completion of the third and fourth units of the Mochovce nuclear power plant (EMO) will be finished on time, said the new head of the Mochovce completion project Igino Chellini, who replaced Giancarlo Aquilanti in the post this month. The power utility company Slovenske Elektrarne (SE) will connect the third unit to the power grid in the fall of 2012 and the fourth unit eight months later, in 2013.
