Lajcak and Sikorski Speak in Warsaw About Strengthening EU Voice

The ways to strengthen the European Union‘s (EU) voice on the international scene is the main topic of a meeting between the slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajcak and his Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski, in Warsaw today. A public discussion about the EU‘s foreign policy is planned to follow. The EU will have as of December 1, when the Treaty of Lisbon takes effect, new tools that will strengthen its voice in the world. The ministers therefore in their discussion focused on solutions that will enable the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the European Council President to transform the EU into a key player in global politics, and, at the same time, to find consensus between the 27-member states with regards to relations with Russia, China and the U.S.
