Defense Minister Says Slovakia to Contend for UNFICYP Commander
RSI, RSI
Defense Minister Jaroslav Baska and Chief of General Staff of the Slovak Republic’s Armed Forces General Lubomir Bulik led Slovakia’s official delegation on a visit to the national contingent in the United Nations Peace-Keeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) on Monday. Baska told reporters that Slovakia intends to stage a bid for UNFICYP Commander. “Over the years of serving in this mission, Slovak soldiers have made a name for themselves. In the course of the next year the Commander of the UNFICYP is to be replaced so we intend to contest the position,” he said.
