Changes in the Second Bailout for Greece Doesn't Concern Slovakia
Conditions of the second programme of financial assistance for Greece approved on Tuesday will not affect Slovak taxpayers, according to the Slovak Finance Minister Ivan Mikloš. "The volume of resources agreed on is €130 billion but the Greeks’ debt will be by 0.5 percent more. The public sector will cover the difference by reducing interest rates on the first loan provided to Greece which Slovakia didn't participate in so it does not affect us. The second part will come from revenues from the bonds of central banks, which doesn't concern Slovakia either," Mikloš said.

The business environment in Slovakia continues to deteriorate, according to entrepreneurs clustered in the Business Alliance of Slovakia. Based on results of its latest survey, the business environment index fell 2.4 percent in quarterly terms to 87 points in the last quarter of 2011. This is the worst level since the alliance started surveying the quality of business environment back in 2001. The deterioration in the quality of the business environment is a result of the collapse of the government and related halt of adopting reform laws.
